Ingredients
1cupButtersoftened
½cupBrown sugarpacked

2tspVanilla extract
1cupCanned pumpkin
2cupsAll-purpose flour
3½tspPumpkin pie spice
1tspBaking powder
1tspBaking soda
¼tspSalt
1packageVanilla or white chips10 to 12 ounces
1cupPecanschopped

½cupBrown sugarpacked
3tbspButter
¼cupMilk
1½-2cupsConfectioners' sugar
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in egg, vanilla and pumpkin. Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in chips and pecans. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes or until firm. Remove to wire rack to cool.
Frosting
Combine brown sugar and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook over medium heat for 1 minute or until slightly thickened. Cool for 10 minutes.
Add milk; beat until smooth. Beat in enough confectioners' sugar to reach desired consistency. Frost cookies.
