Owens Farm Inc. has been a strong supporter of AJCA programs and the jersey breed for generations. They have used many programs over the years including REAP, Equity, Jersey Marketing Service, and JerseyMate. Their milk is shipped to First District out of Litchfield, Minn.

Out of their 1,400 cattle, there are a few sire lines that stand out in their herd. Through the years the varius sire lines that have influenced their herd include: Milestone Generator, Richies Jace T-Bone A364, S.S. Quicksilver of Fallneva, Mason Boomer Sooner Berretta, O.F. Barber Rocket, and O.F. Mannix Rebel-ET.

Although these lines do have a large influence on the farm’s sucess, Owens Farm Inc. would not be where they are today without the people involved. Owens Farm Inc. is 100% homebred and has been successfully passed down for generations. These two components tied together have led to a variety of recognition including ranking high in production, putting several bulls in A.I. including O.F. Mannix Rebel-ET who is a former #1 bull, O.F. Lester Ladyslipper being named the first two-time Premier Performance Cow at the All American in 1996 and 1998. Most recently Wilfred, Walter and Roger were honored with the AJCA’s prestigious Master Breeder award in 2019. This year, Walter will be awarded the Distinguished Service award. The entire family has provided service to the dairy industry through service on various boards and volunteer help in the industry.
