AJCA-NAJ Annual Meeting Schedule 2024
June 19-22, 2024 marks the days that Jersey breeders country-wide will descend on Springfield, Mass., for the AJCA-NAJ Annual Meetings. The New England Jersey Breeders have pulled out all the stops for memorable tours around the New England area.
New England is home to some of the longest-established Jersey herds in the country. Much history has transpired from this area of the country in breeding stock, national award winners, and many other accomplishments as well. The area sported the slogan “The Foundation of Jersey Breed” on their advertising page in the Jersey Journal for many years, as so many Registered Jerseys moved west from New England to make a huge impact on the Jersey breed.
Below is a tentative schedule of the 2024 meetings – highlighting visits to High Lawn Farm and Maple Line Farm as well as the University of Connecticut and a stop at Powder Hill Farm to learn about their transition from Holsteins to Jerseys and see their composting business and sample their ice cream.
Donations are already coming in from across the country for the AJCC Research Foundation Auction that will be held at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.
The National Heifer Sale will be held at the widely known Eastern States Exposition grounds on Friday evening the 21st. Jersey Marketing Service and New England plan to have an elite group of heifers to sell in the virtual sale with 10% of the proceeds benefitting the AJCA National Jersey Youth Development Funds.
On Sunday there is an optional tour to Boston – talk about historical landmarks, Boston is full of them! A great side trip for you and your family.
