Australian National Jersey Show Spotlights U.S. Genetics
The Australian National Jersey Show was held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, during International Dairy Week in Tatura, Victoria. Jersey Journal staff was on site representing U.S. Livestock Genetics Export Inc., and covering the show.
U.S. genetics were showcased in most all the Jersey classes, with many animals sired by U.S. bulls or their dams also being U.S. sired.
Taking home Grand and Senior Champion of the show was Windy Ways Galaxies Dawn 7, sired by Galaxies Celebrity-ET. CELEBRITY is a Windy Willow Montana Jace {6} son out of Deerview Declo Galaxie. “Dawn 7” was exhibited and owned by Cherrylock Cattle Company and Windy Ways Jerseys of Tallygaroopna, Victoria. Reserve Senior Champion honors went to the best uddered cow in the senior division, Brookbora Love Lies 678. She is a daughter of Australian bred Pannoo Abe Vanahlem (a Ahlem Lemvig Abe {6}-ET son) and owned by the partnership of Brookbora, Aspire, Parrabel and Rockstar of Tennyson, Victoria.
In the Intermediate division, champion honors went to a Tower Vue Prime Tequila-ET daughter – Jimann Tequila Maree, owned by T. J. and J. H. Campbell of Rochester, Victoria. She was also named best udder of that division. Reserve Intermediate Champion was awarded to Bushlea Viral Iris, owned by Bushlea Farms, Koonwarra, Victoria.
Philmar FC Upto Mischief was named Junior Champion for Andy Cullen, Cohuna, Victoria. She is sired by Sunset Canyon Andreas and hails from the “Mischief” family at Dutch Hollow Farms, Schodack Landing, N.Y. A daughter of Rapid Bay Black Apple – Rivendell Victorious Valana – was selected as Reserve Junior Champion for Hayley Menzies, Worrigee, New South Wales.
