Youth Corner for Dairy Enthusiasts
The Jersey Journal staff is excited to make it’s Youth Corner available to dairy enthusiasts around the world!

With the recent release of the redesigned website, the Jersey Journal wanted to create a space for young Jersey enthusiasts to access information about opportunities within the industry. The Youth Corner provides information about national Jersey youth activities, such as the National Jersey Youth Production Contest. Each of the individual tiles will take members to a page that talks about the contest, as well as highlights past winners and other historical information.
In the future, we hope to be able to provide even more information to dairy youth. There are hopes for a scholarship and internship pages in the future, which will assist professional development of dairy youth even further.
Youth Activities
For the younger audience, we have a page with activities (with more in the works) to keep them busy. Especially with many schools closed due to current events with the COVID-19 pandemic. With the variety of word searches, crosswords and mazes comes a few hours of entertainment and hopefully learning.
In addition to these activities, are step-by-step tutorials which will guide Jersey enthusiasts (young and more experienced) through different elements of the USJersey programs. Currently, tutorials are available for creating an infoJersey account, BullsEye, JerseyMate and registering animals through out system. These are a great way to get youth involved with their Registered Jersey herd and gives them a sense of contribution to the family business. By letting them take responsibility for certain activities, this may spark their interest for an even more involved future with Jersey cattle and dairy farming.
