USJerseyJournal Wire Introduced

Welcome to the USJerseyJournal Wire!

Beginning this month, the USJerseyJournal Wire will become the new primary communications format for the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc. Replacing the monthly digital flip magazine, the Wire will be delivered as an email newsletter at least twice each month, providing more timely updates and expanded digital content for Jersey breeders, industry partners and dairy enthusiasts. While the format is changing, two printed editions of the Jersey Journal will continue to be mailed annually, including the Youth Issue and All American Issue that celebrate two of the Jersey breed’s most valued traditions.

As a lifelong Jersey breeder, I can still remember the excitement of waiting for the printed Jersey Journal to arrive in the mailbox each month—a tradition many Jersey families can likely relate to. For nearly 75 years, the publication has connected Jersey breeders and enthusiasts through breed news, industry updates and stories from across the Jersey community. In late 2021, the difficult decision was made to transition from print to a digital flip magazine. While it was not a change we liked, it allowed us to continue sharing the information important to the Jersey breed in a financially responsible way.

As the dairy industry continues to evolve, so do the needs of our readers, advertisers and staff. The USJerseyJournal Wire offers a more flexible and timely way to share news from USJersey, the dairy industry and Jersey breeders across the country. The new format also creates expanded opportunities for advertisers through rotating ad placements (meaning every advertiser will appear a minimum of once a month in the newsletter), links to expanded advertisements and premium visibility on USJerseyJournal.com. Readers are encouraged to visit JerseyDirectory.com and connect directly with advertisers featured in each issue through the website link on their listing.

In addition, the Wire will help create greater cohesiveness among the AJCA and NAJ digital platforms, including USJersey.com, USJerseyJournal.com, JerseyDirectory.com, infoJersey.usjersey.com and The All American website. Most importantly, this format allows us to share more timely information while continuing to highlight the people, programs and partnerships that strengthen the Jersey breed and dairy industry.

As this communications effort continues to grow, USJersey remains committed to improving the experience for readers, customers and advertisers alike. Reader feedback will play an important role in shaping the future of the Wire, and we encourage members and industry partners to contact the Communications Team to share ideas, suggestions and perspectives as this new venture continues to evolve.
