DMC Sign-Up for 2021 Ends December 11

The deadline for sign-up for the 2021 Dairy Margin Coverage (DMC) program ends Friday, December 11, 2020. There are currently 6,300 operations enrolled for 2021 coverage.

Recent projections have the income-over-feed-cost margin under the $9.50/cwt. coverage level for the first eight months of 2021, for an average margin of $8.22/cwt.

The DMC Decision Tool at, https://dairymarkets.org/dmc/ , has forecasted that the $9.50 coverage level would be protecting an average milk price of $19.34/cwt. for 2021.

National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is hosting a webinar at 12:30 p.m. (CST), Wednesday, December. 2. The webinar will examine the milk and feed price forecast and forecast margins and analyze how the DMC program will offer farmers protection against price volatility.
