How long has “Fergie” been your junior project?

We bought “Fergie” last March with my partner Gene “Bambi” Henderson from Schulte Bros.   I’ve been working with her since then. “Fergie’s” full sister, Schulte Bros Colton Fame, was Junior Champion Jersey of the Junior Show and Supreme Overall Heifer of the Junior Show at The All American in 2020.

How did it feel to be in the Junior Champion drive?

Being in the Junior Champion drive is an amazing feeling. This was my last year showing as a junior for Jerseys and it was a great feeling to be amongst such great animals and people. It was a rewarding and humbling feeling for all the time and hard work we put into our animals.

What is your favorite memory with “Fergie” before the week of the All American?

My favorite memory prior to the All American was winning Supreme Overall Champion Heifer at Iowa State Fair with “Fergie”. That was our first time winning Supreme Heifer at the Iowa State Fair, and it was a great moment to share with Bambi and my family. I also have many favorite memories of Bambi in our show shed, looking at Fergie and saying, “looks good”, better and better!! He is a great friend and partner.
