Vivianne Three-Time Winner Jersey Lifetime Production Contest

For the third consecutive year, Oakfield TBone Vivianne-ET has topped every division of the American Jersey Cattle Association’s Leading Living Lifetime Production Contest. She was presented with the Ogston Trophy for lifetime milk production of 310,396 lbs. of milk in 4,300 days. She earned the High Lawn Trophy for producing 16,748 lbs. of fat and the Edyvean Farm Trophy for 12,547 lbs. of protein production.

Owned by Kevin and Annetta Herrington of Dansville, N.Y., “Vivianne” was honored at the annual meetings of the national Jersey organizations in Springfield, Mo., in June.

To be eligible for the 2025 Leading Living Lifetime Production Contest, a cow must have been alive as of December 31, 2025, and produced a minimum of 225,000 lbs. milk, 10,000 lbs. fat or 8,000 lbs. protein. Thirty-one cows qualified for the contest.

Thirteen of them are represented in the top 10 placings for milk, fat or protein. As a group, the top 10 in each division produced 260,769 lbs. milk, 13,271 lbs. fat and 9,787 lbs. protein, with average daily production of 80 lbs. milk, 4.2 lbs. fat and 3.0 lbs. protein. They hail from farms in four states: Iowa, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. A genetically diverse group, the 13 cows represented in the top placings in each division are sired by 13 different bulls.

Oakfield TBone Vivianne-ET, E-96%

As mentioned, “Vivianne” was the top producer in every contest division. She initially placed in the contest in 2021, ranked second in each category the following year, and won every division the past three years. She calved eight times, most recently in October 2021, and was in the milking string through June 2024. Her average daily production stands at 72.2 lbs. milk, 3.9 lbs. fat and 2.9 lbs. protein.

Seven of her eight lactations exceed 21,000 lbs. milk and two are over 30,000 lbs. milk. Two lactations rank on the current National Class Leader list for production among cows 10 years and over. Her 10-10 record (28,060 lbs. milk, 1,418 lbs. fat, 1,095 lbs. protein) ranks for protein and cheese yield (3,671 lbs.). Her 11-10 record (31,720 lbs. milk, 1,676 lbs. fat, 1,179 lbs. protein) ranks for milk, fat and protein and is the class leader for cheese yield at 4,078 lbs.

“Vivianne” is the highest appraised matriarch in the contest, at Excellent-96%, and has the most registered progeny at 76. Sired by Richies Jace TBone A 364, GJPI -3, she was bred by Alicia and Jonathan Lamb, Oakfield, N.Y., and purchased by the Herringtons privately in June 2010 after they bought her full sister as a choice in the Oakfield Corners Spring Sensation Sale in 2009. Her grandam is Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J. The Herringtons have heavily marketed descendants from the “Queen of the Barn” over the years.

Lawtons Galvanize Ernie, E-93%

Lawtons Galvanize Ernie, owned by Merle and Timothy Lawton, Newark Valley, N.Y., ranks second for milk, third for fat and fifth for protein with lifetime totals of 270,441 lbs. milk, 14,061 lbs. fat and 9,691 lbs. protein in 3,175 days. She placed in the contest for the first time two years ago and has risen in the rankings ever since, bolstered by tremendous daily milk and component production (85.2 lbs. milk, 4.4 lbs. fat and 3.1 lbs. protein).

Sired by Buttercrest Galvanize, GJPI +17, she is appraised Excellent-93% and has an m.e. average of 28,073 – 1,454 – 991 on nine records. She has a top record of 31,790 lbs. milk, 1,596 lbs. fat and 1,108 lbs. protein at 8-10. “Ernie” last calved in mid-June 2025 and completed an 11-9 record of 23,830 lbs. milk, 1,240 lbs. fat and 779 lbs. protein at 11-9. She gave 64 lbs. of milk for the tester in May and is due in late November with her 10th calf, sired by Lawtons Casino Stinger, GJPI +44.

Goff Perform 23517-ET, E-92%

Goff Perform 23517-ET, owned by Heather Moore, Jeromesville, Ohio, returns to the leader board this year with lifetime production of 267,804 lbs. milk, 13,444 lbs. fat and 9,991 lbs. protein in 3,248 days. The measures rank third for milk and protein and fourth for fat. Her average daily production stands at 82.5 lbs. milk, 4.1 lbs. fat and 3.1 lbs. protein.

“Perform 23417” made her debut in the contest last year and 13,248 lbs. milk, 1,276 lbs. fat and 777 lbs. protein to her lifetime totals to move up in the rankings. The Excellent-92% daughter of Waunakee Legal Perform, GJPI +20, freshened with her 10th calf in late July 2025. The component queen has eight lactations over 21,000 lbs. milk—six over 1,000 lbs. protein—and made a top record of 7-3 305 3x 4.8% 1,450 3.7% 1,121 104DCR.

Moore purchased “Perform 23417” from her breeder, Buster Goff, Hobbs, N.M., in 2014 as a heifer calf. She hails from the “Lemvig Mamme” cow family and has eight registered progeny to date.

Cinnamon Ridge Visionry Chastity-ET, VG-84%

Cinnamon Ridge Visionry Chastity-ET, one of seven cows in the milking string at Cinnamon Ridge Jerseys, Donahue, Iowa, places fourth for milk and second for components in this year’s contest. Owned by Amy Maxwell, “Chastity” has lifetime credits of 263,463 lbs. milk, 14,379 lbs. fat and 10,504 lbs. protein in 3,642 days. Her daily average is 73.3 lbs. milk, 4.0 lbs. fat and 2.9 lbs. protein.

This is the third time the Very Good-84% daughter of All Lynns Legal Visionary-ET, GJPI +53, has ranked among the top 10 in the contest. She calved in March 2025 with a heifer calf and completed a 305-day record of 19,720 lbs. milk, 1,140 lbs. fat and 694 lbs. protein at 12-7. She has nine complete lactations—seven over 20,000 lbs. milk—and made her best record of 28,800 lbs. milk, 1,492 lbs. fat and 1,109 lbs. protein at 8-6. She is still in the herd, giving more than 40 lbs. of milk every day, and has eight registered progeny.

“Chastity” is out of Cinnamon Ridge Artis Praise, Very Good-87%, who won many production awards for Amy in youth competitions and was in the donor dam program at Cinnamon Ridge. Amy purchased her dam, Woodstock Hallmark Louisa, from Woodstock Dairy, Corning, Calif., in the 2007 Pot O’Gold Sale. Cinnamon Ridge Nitro Noble-ET, a maternal sister to “Chastity,” won the Hilmar Cheese Yield Trophy in 2022.

Rounding out the top five milk rankings is a newcomer to the contest, Nurinas Chief 1981, owned by Hoards Dairyman Farm, Fort Atkinson, Wis. She ranks fifth for milk and sixth for protein with lifetime totals of 256,627 lbs. milk, 10,963 lbs. fat and 9,278 lbs. protein in 3,441 days. Her average daily production is 74.6 lbs. milk, 3.2 lbs. fat and 2.7 lbs. protein.

Appraised Excellent-93%, she is sired by SR Jace Chief-P-ET, GJPI -3, and will turn 14 in mid-September. “Chief 1981” has freshened 10 times to date, nine times with a heifer, and has an m.e. average of 21,477—919—785 on nine lactations. She has a top record of 7-2 305 3x 30,850 3.9% 1,205 3.6% 1,121 102DCR. She calved in mid-January 2026 and has an actual 305-day projected record of 16,717 lbs. milk, 684 lbs. fat and 560 lbs. protein at 13-3. She is due to sexed Dupat Blizzard Odesza-ET, GJPI +131, in early January 2027.

“Chief 1981” was bred by Frances Reigle of Oregon, Ill.

Rounding out the top five rankings for fat in the 2025 Leading Living Lifetime Production Contest is Cold Run Dante Camaro, who made her debut in the contest last year ranked 10th for fat. Owned by Cold Run Jerseys LLC, Salem, Ohio, her lifetime numbers are 209,511 lbs. milk, 12,572 lbs. fat and 8,070 lbs. protein in 2,930 days. Daily production equates to 71.5 lbs. milk, 4.3 lbs. fat and 2.8 lbs. protein.

With Cold Run breeding on both sides of her pedigree, the Excellent-91% 11-year-old is sired by Cold Run HG Dante-ET, JPI -42. She has nine complete lactations, with tests up to 6.6% fat and 4.2% protein. “Camaro” has seven records over 20,000 lbs. milk and a best record of 25,080 lbs. milk, 1,665 lbs. fat and 930 lbs. protein at 2-10.

“Camaro” freshened with her 10th calf in late April and gave 78 lbs. milk on her May test. She has an actual 305-day projected record of 21,395 lbs. milk, 1,152 lbs. fat and 766 lbs. protein at 11-6. She has five registered daughters.

The final cow to be ranked among the top five for components is JX Cinnamon Ridge Sal Tecumseh {5}, owned by John David Maxwell of Donahue, Iowa. She made 242,756 lbs. milk, 12,571 lbs. fat and 9,893 lbs. protein in 3,001 days to rank fourth for protein, sixth for fat and 10th for milk. Her average daily production is 80.1 lbs. milk, 4.2 lbs. fat and 3.3 lbs. protein. The daily protein measure ranks second to another member of the Cinnamon Ridge milking string, Clemson Lemonhead 330 604, at 3.67 lbs.

“Tecumseh {5}” ranked ninth in the protein division last year. Sired by JX Wilsonview Z Salvadore {4}-ET, GJPI +67, she is appraised Excellent-93% and has eight complete lactations, with an m.e. average of 25,563—1,305—1,028. Her protein tests range from 3.7% to 4.2%.

She last calved in early February 2025 and gave more than 110 lbs. milk for the tester in March, April and May and completed a 305-day record of 25,340 lbs. milk, 1,269 lbs. fat and 929 lbs. protein at 10-8. The 12-year-old was bred to JX Primus Tucker Cord {6}-ET, GJPI +51, and due in late May.

Other cows to place for either milk, fat or protein in the contest include the previously mentioned “Lemonhead 330 604 {6}, owned by Jacob Tatko of Donahue, Iowa, along with Dutch Hollow Prescott Mollie, owned by Paul C. Chittenden, Schodack Landing, N.Y.; Cinnamon Ridge Zayd Beyonce {6}-P, owned by Amy and Kara Maxwell, Donahue, Iowa; JX Cinnamon Ridge Jammer Molly {5}, owned by Kara Alice Maxwell; and Cinnamon Ridge Score Francine and Cinnamon Ridge Method Bulgaria, both owned by Amy Maxwell.
