Jersey Breeders to be Recognized

Several Jersey breeders will be officially recognized for achievements with their cattle at the Annual Meetings of the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc.

Wilfred, Walter and Roger Owens of Owens Farms Inc., Frederic, Wis., (pictured above) will be honored with the award for AJCA Master Breeder.

David Norman, Liberty, Pa., will be recognized with the AJCA Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Ronald L. Horst, Ames, Iowa, will be honored posthumously with the AJCA-NAJ Award for Meritorious Service.

Young Jersey Breeder Awards will be presented to Katie and Josh Carpenter of Arcade, N.Y., Matthew and Alicia Derr of Linden, Pa., Ryan Junio of Pixley, Calif., Natalie and Wade Kessenich of DeForest, Wis., Brent Wickstrom of Hilmar, Calif., and Brent Young of Dallas, Wis.

Recipients of the Master Breeder, Distinguished Service and Meritorious Service awards will be presented at the AJCA Jersey Breeders’ Banquet in Saratoga Springs on June 29. Young Jersey Breeder awards will be given at the AJCA Young Jersey Breeders Breakfast Banquet on June 28.
