Leach Family Thank You

Thanks…..one small word that says so much

September 27, 2019

The Jersey Journal received the following words of thanks from the Leach family after they received donations to help them rebuild their farm in the wake of a tornado in May.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

Words can’t express our appreciation. We know that all in the dairy community are indeed #strongerthanthestorm.

It is kindness and prayers of family, friends and strangers that helps.

Rob, Lisa, Taylor, Erin and Sophie Leach, Lin-Crest Farm, Linwood, Kan.

On May 28, 2019, an EF-5 twister touched down in Lawrence, Kan., and left a path of destruction 32 miles wide in Douglas and Leavenworth Counties. Included in its wake was Lincrest Farm of Linwood. The barns and silos are a complete loss; the house is damaged but repairable. To date, 17 head of Jerseys and Holsteins have been lost; several others are injured.

Among the efforts to assist was an auction of semen, embryos and other special items in mid-July through Jersey Marketing Service. The effort was spearheaded by Abe and Katrina Cobb, Red Dirt Genetics, Perkins, Okla.
